Queer Film Screenings by Fluid Film Kollektiv p2p

Screening Series

The goal of the Fluid Film Kollektiv is to make underground and non-commercial films accessible, as finding and accessing them is often time-consuming and costly.

The focus lies on unconventional, “trashy” and less-known films produced on small budgets, which explore politics, power structures, unusual aesthetics and narratives, and move between fun and seriousness.

We wish to showcase an often-overlooked aspect of cinematic art and to counteract the homogenisation of film culture brought on by the monopolistic position of streaming services. In the long term, the aim is to create a space where films can be discussed within an accessible, non-academic exchange format involving various forms of participation. The films are screened in a cute and cozy “shared living room”-atmosphere where everyone is welcome.

Screening and opportunity for non-pretentious discussion and space for reflection at small stations afterwards

The Raspberry Reich. Dir: Bruce LaBruce. Englisch. 90 minutes.

A british-german porny satire:
In Berlin, a group of terrorists is planning a ‘gay revolution’. One of their first acts is the sensational kidnapping of Patrick, the son of a banker. However, the kidnappers have no idea that their victim is having an affair with Clyde, one of their comrades, and that the two have long been planning to run away together. But the hostage isn’t worth much anyway, as Patrick’s filthy rich father has no intention of paying a ransom – in fact, he’s rather glad to be rid of his misguided son. Whilst Gudrun, the gang’s leader, preaches to her comrades that only through free love and reckless sex can they prove their revolutionary spirit, Clyde and Patrick, having successfully escaped, begin to rob banks.

The film startes at 8 pm, doors open at 07:30 pm.

Screening and mediation

My body is political (Meu corpo é político). Dir. Alice Riff. Original language: Portuguese. Subtitles: English. 71 minutes.

An intimate portrayal of the day to day lives of four trans individuals living in peripheral neighborhoods of a huge Latin American city, São Paulo. The days go by surrounded by circles of friends, romantic relationships, work, activism, personal projects, music and —in the background— a political commentary about the national disputes over trans rights.

For this screening the Fluid Film Collective proposes a non-pretentious mediation, facilitating a space for exchanging impressions and ideas about the film.

The screening is also part of the current screening series “Films to Postpone the End of the World. Tropical Dystopias and the (Re)Invention of the Future”.

Further events will be announced here.

This screening series is part of the Kunstraum.p2p format and organized by Fluid Film Kollektiv. The admission is free.
