Racism, Antisemitism, and (Non-)Remembrance in the Post-Migrant Society
Oct. 28, 2026 to Nov 05, 2026

The multimedia exhibition brings together several contributions by students of Leuphana University, developed in seminars led by Prof. Ellen Kollender and Prof. Monika School and as part of the project “Futures of Memory in Post-Migrant Society.”

Opening: October 27, 2026, 07:30 pm

Germany is a post-migrant society: a society in which migration shapes social reality and continually transforms political, social, and institutional structures. Racism and antisemitism are part of these conditions and manifest in various forms.

Remembering and acknowledging histories of racist and antisemitic violence and discrimination are shaped by power relations: they determine whose memories are recognized and which voices are heard. These memories are often considered separately or sidelined, leaving historical and present-day entanglements unexamined. Addressing them is necessary to understand the conflicts and ambivalences of remembrance and to do justice to the diversity of perspectives, histories and experiences in society.
