Wien Feber Null. Eine Ästhetik des Widerstands (Aestehtics of Resistance)
Lecture and presentation by Gerald Raunig
December 14th, 2000
Philosopher Gerald Raunig, who is a member of the board of IG Kultur und Medien in Austria, will present the theses formulated in his recently published book about the actions of the Viennese “resistance” against the black-blue government of February 2000 and will also show film footage of these actions. The book can be read on several levels: as a subjective-reflective diary of the resistance from February 1 to 19, 2000, as a series of philosophical essays on aspects of the protest against the participation of the far-right FPÖ in the government, as an attempt to think together artistic and political actions, and finally also as a formal adaptation of the “Aesthetics of Resistance” by Peter Weiss.
