Storytelling Workshop. Crafting Narratives Across Mediums
Workshop
24. April 2025, 2 pm
This in-depth workshop offers a comprehensive exploration of storytelling as a creative practice, designed for individuals working across photography, video, writing, and mobile media. It is intended for anyone interested in developing their narrative skills, regardless of their chosen medium or level of experience.
The session begins by examining the fundamental elements of a compelling story—how to identify a strong subject, understand context, and structure a narrative that resonates. Participants will engage with the creative process from concept to publication, learning how to combine visual, written, and audio elements into cohesive, emotionally engaging narratives.
Attention will be given to the unique affordances and constraints of different formats, from the intimacy of mobile photography to the expansive potential of multimedia storytelling. Through a combination of case studies, guided exercises, and group discussions, participants will explore the role of perspective, authorship, and ethical responsibility in shaping narrative work.
The workshop will also address practical considerations, including how to sequence and edit material, how to approach collaborative storytelling, and how to publish or present stories effectively—whether through exhibitions, books, digital platforms, or journalistic outlets. The goal is to equip participants with the tools and critical frameworks to refine their voice and communicate with clarity and intention.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have developed a deeper understanding of storytelling as a deliberate, evolving craft—capable of connecting people, challenging perceptions, and sparking dialogue across cultures and disciplines.
